A few post Aperture Apocalypse tips - by David R Beebe
Before going to OS X 10.10.3 or newer you will need to update Aperture to version 3.6. While Aperture is no longer available in the App Store (it was poorly replaced with Photos), you should still be able to find its update available under the App Store’s Purchases tab.
I am happy to report that Aperture 3.6 still runs under OS X 10.10.4 which came out 6/30/15.
By fall 2015, Apple plans to add the ability to send an image to an external editor such as Photoshop. A feature that already exists in Aperture. No word yet on when Aperture's more advanced editing tools will make it into Photos.
Aperture training has already been removed from One-To-One training and the Apple Store computers no longer have Aperture installed. If you are still hoping for a training class, sign up for Photos, mention what you want to discuss in Aperture during the training session and bring your own computer with Aperture installed.
